This gas cap did not fit the neck of my stock replacement tank correctly I had to add a 1/4 inch thick rubber gasket on the inside of the cap to get it to fit correctly.

I purchased a gas take for my 1972 chevelle from NPD and then order the gas cap for it. The gas does not fit properly
