Verified Buyer CROSS MEMBER, FRONT FLOOR

This crossmember had a made in Taiwan sticker on it, but I didn't see any quality issues with it. It is made from the same gauge (1/8"+) metal as the original I cut out. It was welded together in the exact same spots as the original. It has all the nutserts in the correct locations. It has all the holed for the wiring harness retainers in the correct spots. When compared to my beat up original the strut rod pockets looked exactly the same. And, most importantly it fit in place exactly as the orginal. I marked the locations of the factory spot welds and then drilled and plug welded them along with fillet welding the edges like the factory did. Have fun with the overhead plug welds on the underside of the frame. The price is a little high, but when you are fixing a 50 year old car be grateful you can find "new" parts at all. Please keep the classics on the road and out of the scrap yards! Side note: I am a retired mechanical engineer with slightly above novice welding skills, so if you have any questions about your welding ability I would sugest you pay a welder to weld this in. It is a structural component of the frame and suspension and would be a safety issue if not welded correctly.
