Typically, the primary expense in reproducing parts is not the materials used to manufacture the parts, but the costs involved in developing and creating the TOOLING. Most reproduction tooling is at least 5-figures, and larger items or more-complex assemblies run well into the 6-figures. And then, these immense costs have to be divided/amortized over what is "relatively" low-production. Restoration parts as a category, is considered extremely low-production to manufacturers. Where typically, a production-run is only 300-500 pcs, which can easily take 5+ years to sell-thru. If you sit down at a calculator and run some quick math, it is easy to see why retail prices of restoration parts are what they are. The materials-cost is a minor detail, it's minute compared to the costs to develop, tool, test and then produce.

These sliders ARE NOTa direct fit for 1970 Camaro seats. The stands on these are basically flat. The originals are taller. I had to put a half inch of spacers under these to make them work. Also the adjuster knob on the original seats is on the side. It is in the front on front on these. They should not be offered as a direct fit for 1970 Camaro.

We re-researched, and this is a case where the original GM texts to not jive with reality, the reality being, that the 1970 slider was a side-adjust unit, completely different. So we are editing our applications to reflect 1971-1974 immediately. Our competitors are all listing this for 1970-1974.
