My 1968 Mustang 289 didn't have these end caps when I disassembled the heater box but these NPD replacements worked great...even more so after I slightly chamfered the edges for an easier installation.

I purchased a copper high quality heater core and these ends caps for it. I could not get both of them to fit into the heater housing and I tried whittling them down to fit, but I could only get the end w/o the pipe holes to fit where it allowed me to clamp the housing together. A waste of time and money if you ask me.
