This Ford units is based of the current 8S4Z-15K601-A unit. It features 4 buttons (Lock, Unlock, trunk & panic) with the correct color coding like original. Restoration Note:
1999-2009 Mustang Key fob or Keyless entry units did not feature words on the remote but logos for each of the symbols. Only the 1994 thru 1998 version offered the remote with correct lettering. These Ford units are based of the current 8S4Z-15K601-A Ford part number. The remote has been replace by Ford many time. The original 1999 thru 2009 remotes featured slightly different logos then these units.
Installation Note:
This unit is designed to only work with cars that have original factory keyless entry. These units also needs to be programmed to your Mustang. Two remotes are required to program to your Mustang.
Programming:
These replacement units are a simple and easy process to program. Simply turn the key on and off to the accessory position 8 times leaving the key in the on position on the final time. The doors will then lock and unlock themselves letting you know that the system is ready to code your new remote. Then just push the lock or unlock button on on each of the remotes and the door will lock and unlock each time letting you know that the remote is programed. After doing this just turn the key back off and the door will do one more lock and unlock to say that the system is done. Then just test your remote.
Note:
If your have your original remotes but are looking to just replace the outer case with a new updated unit look and NPD part number M-15K601-125CAS for just the outer shell. This will allow you to just reuse your original transmitter unit inside and transfer it to the new case.
