VALANCE PANEL, FRONT, LOWER, ORIGINAL, D9ZZ-17626-B
This unit is designed to be a replacement style unit for your lower valance panel on your 1979 Indy Pace car or 1980-1982 Cobra or GT. These exclusive unit from NPD are based off the D9ZZ-17626-B units and are as close to original as possible. The lower valance section is located from the front upper cover section and goes to the bottom of the core support. These panels are designed to finish off the lower section as well as help with diffusing the air the flows under the front section of the car. These panels typically take a beating from road rash but also over time have been torn off or are just plain missing. So if you are looking to complete the front end of your early Fox Mustang then this is the panel you might be missing.
The original lower valance was smooth on both the top and bottom side. These reproduction units feature a textured side as well as a smooth side. They can be installed either way but we at NPD recommend that your install the smooth side down facing the ground to ensure a OE style look when looking under the car.
These units were also used on 1984-86 Mecury Capri RS mdoels. Ford Listing show the D9ZZ-17626-B unit as going all the way to the 1986 Capri model.
In the Original Ford Illustration Ford called this panel the lower valance panel section as the cars also featured a upper section most commonly called the front Air Dam or lower bumper cover section. These two units featured the same Ford base number of 17626 but this lower section used the D9ZZ-17626-B part number. NPD is proud to offer the upper section or Air Dam under part number M-17626-2A
