This original gas cap from Motorcraft is designed to work with 1/8th turn style fuel caps. This unit features the correct screw down style mounting hole with proper yellow style text (TIGHTEN UNTIL CLICK : OR ENGINE LIGHT MAY COME ON). This unit is black in finish and uses the XU5Z-9030-JA / FC-961 Ford part number. SO if you are looking for the correct gas cap for your Mustang this is the part for you.
Note: Ford listings show 1997-2004 as having the option for the 1/8th turn style cap. Most 1997-1998 version used the screw on or threaded style cap. Check your application before ordering. If the screw on style is needed see F-9030-28 for gray style or M-9030-3 for correct black style.
