I do like this gas hose. I believe our '68 Mercury Cougar had the original red stripe hose, though the Autolite logo could not be read. It was also just a plain rubber hose, and the construction of this hose seems to be better and I like the "ribbed" outer part of the hose. The new hose was too long, but using a band saw, we cut the gas hose to fit and it looks great. With this being a new hose, using the original hose clamps was very tight and quite difficult; the walls of the new gas hose seem to be thicker and installation was harder than it should have been. Otherwise, I am quite pleased.
