The original U bolts sent with the kit were not coated (plain metal) and not threaded properly. The threads were cut incorrectly in circles and the nuts would not thread on. T-bolts were coated black oxide and perfect. Called NPD and they sent out a new kit within 3 days. The replacement U bolts had a factory like black oxide coating and were machined perfectly and of better quality. They obviously used 2 different vendors for the U bolts. I started ordering from NPD after watching the CEO being interviewed on YouTube. He stated that NPD parts were of superior quality. Disappointing to find that wasn’t the case with these U bolts. However, the Michigan branch did make it right without any hassle, so I do respect and appreciate that. It’s just unfortunate that the quality of restoration parts varies so much. Hoping NPD gets the faulty U bolts out of their inventory and only ships out the black oxide coated ones of superior quality from now on.
