MONTE CARLO BAR, straight, black painted, repro, Be aware that these bars on the 1971-73 are VERY tight with a stock 351C distributor cap, Any deviations from stock may have fit issues along with 302 and 429 engines, The Monte Carlo bar was originally added to the Monte Carlo raced Falcons and later the 1964 Monte Carlo Mustangs to further reinforce the shock towers by triangulating the support in conjunction with the one piece export brace, The bar keeps the shock towers from collapsing inward and keeps camber adjustments more consistent, When you install this bar you may notice that the bar will not fit in between the aprons, This is due to the shock tower and aprons flexing inward, It may be necessary to spread the shock towers outward to fit the brace and return the towers to their original designed position, Make sure to check your front end alignment after installation, Each side bracket has 4 mounting holes, 3 of which are existing holes, 46 5/16 between brackets, .104 plate thickness including coating, 1 O.D. tube with .109 tubing wall thickness, 4.85 lb actual weight
Manufacturer Reference #'s: ST60071B,
I had to relocate the screws because it hit my distributor. Somebody should have took that into consideration. I also had to bend the metal in order to fit the curvature of the aprons. Not happy.

Great looking bar with nice powdercoat finish. Fits properly with holes already drilled to attach to bolts on fender apron with no welding or drilling. May not clear aftermarket distributors. Didn't work with my Pertronix Flamethrower, so I had to go back to a stock unit. But overall a well-made, solid piece.
