Description

MONTE CARLO BAR, straight, black painted, good repro, The Monte Carlo bar was originally added to the Monte Carlo raced Falcons and later the 1964 Monte Carlo Mustangs to further reinforce the shock towers by triangulating the support in conjunction with the one piece export brace, The bar keeps the shock towers from collapsing inward and keeps camber adjustments more consistent, When you install this bar you may notice that the bar will not fit in between the aprons, This is due to the shock tower and aprons flexing inward, It may be necessary to spread the shock towers outward to fit the brace and return the towers to their original designed position, Make sure to check your front end alignment after installation, Each side bracket has 4 mounting holes, 3 of which are existing holes, 40 7/16 inch between brackets, .08” plate thickness including coating, 1” O.D. tube with 1.2mm tubing wall thickness, 2.0 lb actual weight, See 29432-1AK for mounting hardware option,

Verified Buyer MONTE CARLO BAR, STRAIGHT, PAINTED

The bar is a little too wide for my engine compartment, but with as old as the car is, and the wide tolerances that they were built to, this is understandable. I'll try spreading the shock towers a bit, and if that doesn't work, then I'll shorten the bar.

YES I would recommend this product.

NPD - National Parts Depot
This is absolutely normal and common. Due to age and fatigue, the distance from apron to apron is commonly a bit too tight for the monte carlo bar to simply "drop in". Spread the shock towers slightly, and installation should be straight-forward. You should NOT have to modify the length of the bar.
