MOUNTING KIT, INTAKE MANIFOLD

DO NOT USE on a factory STEEL manifold. These bolts are a grade 5. Grade 5 torque max is 17 dry. Factory steel manifold torque spec 23 to 25. These bolts will break how do I know. I purchased them for 1970 351w factory steel manifold. They Broke. I had to pull the intake then pull the head take it to a machine shop to get the bolt out. After doing some research finding the bolts are a grade 5 (look on AMK web site) search F-1131, then click on the camera, click on bolt BGK2-B12709 and read GRD5. Torque spec for a grade 5 bolt you can find on Fastenal or Mechanicology web site grade 5 bolt max torque 17.

Please refer to the new NOTE in the product-description. We discovered that the Ford torque specs are in-error, and have been that way for so long that other aftermarket manuals reflect the same error. Ford ORIGINALLY used Grade-5 bolts, and the CORRECT torque spec is 17 ft lbs, not 23-25. We have researched this exhaustively. NPD
