It did not fit through the opening in the tail light panel, The pipe should be round, but there were several areas that had "corners" in them which were the high points that were the interference to it fitting through the hole. The original rusty fuel filler neck fits fine

Did not fit the pipe by the flange is flared out would not fit the opening. Cleaned up my old one.
