I am still trying to figure this out but the reproduction rocker panel is not stamped the same as the rocker panels on my 65 fastback. If I were just using a small piece for a patch it would probably be ok but one of the areas I need from the repro panel has a V shaped indentation stamped into it and that is not present on my car. I just sent it back without further testing but from looking at a piece of my original rocker, these are also stamped out of a somewhat thinner metal than the originals. This is not an area you want to thin out on these cars. I do not fault NPD on this as I have now called 10 companies and everybody has the same situation including the Dynacorn panels. So far, I haven't found an original in any good enough shape that I could extract it either. Frankly, I don't know what to do.

We compared this to the rocker on a 1966 convertible project owned by an employee and the visible portions seem fine.  Not "absolutely exact" but this is why we included the term “replacement” in the catalog.  We are unsure what the “V” is that the reviewer refers to.  The 16 gauge metal thickness is listed in the catalog and online, and upon measured the originals on the '66, both sides, top and bottom flanges read 16 & 17 gauge depending on the position.  We hope that someone who proceeds to fitting this part will contribute a review so that we can better flesh-out any prospective concerns.

Required quite a bit of tweaking at the door sill. The best way to tackle this part is to clamp the bottom edge first and then wrangle the top into position. The trench where wires would run is NOT the same shape but it can bet convinced to cooperate. Also the holes for the sill plate trim are in the wrong place. But overall it’s a good part
