I ordered 2 of these for 2 ongoing F-100 projects- a 68 and a 72. Both seals came with no hole pre punched for the clutch rod to pass through. I had to use several drill bits stepping up in size to open the hole slowly as not to tear the rubber, then cut a final clean hole with a sharp utility knife. Then I was able to pass the road through without it binding. It took me about 30-45 minutes to carefully open the hole. I suppose it could be done with a red hot dowel or rod passing through the rubber to make the penetration, but I didn’t have a rod that size, and frankly didn’t want to ruin the boot. Supplier Dennis Carpenter's quality control team has some work to do. After making the hole the boot seal installed and sealed perfectly.
