Below is a lot of info, but I have to share. Ok. I have a 1967 GTO 400CU 4 barrel. Had a cooling issue that was bugging me and had difficulty solving. Changed coolant ration to 75% distilled water to 25% coolant (no joy), replaced thermostat (no joy), replaced water pump with performance water pump and set divider plates to 0.15 inches to impeller (no joy), replaced radiator with performance radiator and dual electric fans and alternator to handle extra current load (no joy). Then after seeing buzz word “radiator seal kit”, performed investigation on the car. I saw fragments of the original seal kit on the car. I assume it was pulled off for a full body paint job but not reinstalled. I said oh no! So ordered this kit (I requested and NPD sent me extra info to help install) and then installed the kit. Everything done up to this point helped, but did not completely sole the issue. This kit SOLVED my cooling issue. Air flow through the radiator is a linear equation. For example only … if the radiator is 3 square feet and you can funnel let’s say 6 square feet airflow from the front of the car through the radiator you have basically DOUBLED the airflow through the radiator. So when driving 30 mph air flow through the radiator is like 60 mph. This “drives” home how important the GTO radiator seal was at not just helping but was the final solution at solving my cooling issue. Thank you! David
