If I could give this a ZERO I would. There is nothing “Wood” about this wheel. It is as cheap a plastic as it comes. It had a “wood grain” sheeth over the top that was peeling and chipped all over. We returned and ordered another hoping for better results. The second was just as cheaply/horrible as the first.

Hello Rebecca,

First off, please understand that this steering wheel is a replica of the original GM rosewood deluxe wheel, which was originally PLASTIC from GM. GM never used actual real wood for these wheels, they used plastic painted-up to look like wood. So the wheel isn't "cheapest plastic", it is the exact same materials that were used by GM in 1969-1970.

That said, we have started looking through our inventory, and notice that many of our wheels in-stock have small areas where the paint has either rubbed-thin, or was applied poorly, such that the black plastic is showing through underneath. So we are going to inspect all inventory, and return all defects for replacement.

We appreciate your bringing this to our attention. But your expectation of a real-wood wheel was incorrect, and all other aspects of this wheel are true to original.
