This hood tachometer worked perfectly right out of the box and was easy to wire. **Be aware the mounting template that comes with the tach is not correct. Do NOT drill the holes using the template. It's completely wrong. Make your own template.** I did have some issues mounting it because I have a reproduction hood. The underside of the reproduction hood is not the same as the factory hood. Therefore, no matter where I placed the tachometer, it was directly over a raised area on the underside of the hood. Be aware of this in case you have a reproduction hood. I haven't yet connected the lights and can't review how those work. As a tachometer, this thing is great! I have mine mounted near the rear of the shaker on my '70 Mach 1. The face is plenty big and it's really nice to look out over the steering wheel and see the tach. With a shaker, it makes the hood appear a bit busy, but I suppose that's a personal preference thing. I don't like the proverbial tach-strapped-to-the-steering-column thing, so if you don't have a factory tach, this is a good option although pretty pricey.
