Tank comes nicely painted in a metallic finish. Fits well in the original mounting holes. There may be a problem with the tank inlet position. My filler pipe, which is OE, extended past the tank inlet about 5/8". Since there is only about 1/2" between the end of the filler pipe and the top of the tank inlet, I had to cut off about 1 and 1/2" of my filler pipe and tighten the clamps down very tight. So far no leakage.

Tank worked nice. Had a problem with the lock ring for the sending unit. Leaked with the lock ring that came with the new tank, had to use old lock ring.

Corners came bent (probably from shipping). holes did NOT line up at all. I had to redrill holes into my 67 Mercury Cougar & it had a little residue (probably from the welding or paint) inside the tank, had to vacuum it out. Still pretty good for the price

I cannot speak to the matter of the holes not lining up, but regarding the bent-corners… The manufacturer bends the corners intentionally to help mitigate risk of damage/injury during shipping. Un-bent, those corners can act like giant razors/daggers, that would slice through cardboard like butter and potentially injure UPS drivers tossing them around.

I have even seen original cars with under-trunk (strap-mounted) fuel tanks that had all four corners bent from the factory, because the factory also was trying to mitigate injury risk.

Hope you understand, and hope the final installation is satisfactory. We appreciate your business!
