The corner of the rubber where it was fused together was ripped and coming apart straight out of the package

WEATHERSTRIP, WINDSHIELD GLASS

I have an original windshield, it’s about 1/4” thick. I cannot get this seal on around it. Myself and a buddy have spent about 5 hours trying to get it on. The rubber is so hard it has no flexibility and when you try to get the last 12” on the seal comes off the window somewhere else. Watching videos, I see others slipping theirs on with ease but not this. I don’t know if they have thinner reproduction windshields, or there is just something wrong with mine and the rubber is way too hard, but this is almost useless and it’s the only option I have.
