Want the classic look of the Delco R-59 battery but with the convenience of a modern battery? We have the reproduction cover to satisfy your needs! Each battery cover offering comes in a black finish and fits most maintenance-free flat-top group 24 / 60 batteries with original terminal location. Cover measures 10 3/8 inch length x 6 15/16 inch width x 13/16 inch height, with 8 1/8 inches of width between the top post openings (center to center). The R-59 top post style battery cover includes 6 black fill caps, featuring orange / red paint markings (one includes "Delco Eye" writing) with "Delco Energizer" text molded into the top.

Some batteries may require terminal extenders to allow posts to completely come through topper. See NPD part number C-2000-130A.

Have not installed it yet because I didn’t realize I don’t have a flat top battery. I am hoping it ate right but I am probably going to have to order the post extenders. Otherwise it’s pretty neat and NPD price beats others.

Decent product but way too expensive. It cost me $67 including shipping. It should be about half that price.

We are sorry that you are disappointed with the cost of this cover. But please understand that injection-mold tooling is extremely expensive. And for something like this, a relatively niche product that is sold in limited numbers (as opposed to a household plastic item you’d find at Walmart, sold by the hundreds of thousands), that tooling cost is divided into the finished cost of the piece. You’ve got tooling for the cover, plus two different styles of caps. And on top of that, icing on the cake, is 12% of the sales goes to GM for licensing.
Nobody
is getting rich on these covers, it just is what it is I’m afraid, and this is
frequently the most common reason that reproduction restoration parts can be
quite expensive. It’s the cost of the tooling amortized over the volume of
production. The less volume, the higher % the tooling factors in.
