Description

POWER STEERING CONVERSION, EPAS ELECTRIC, GPS CONTROLLED MOTOR SENSES VEHICLE SPEED AND DIRECTS THE MOTOR TO REDUCE THE EFFORT ACCORDINGLY, INCL ALL NECESSARY BRACKETS AND HARD FOR PROPER INSTALLATION

EPAS Electric, GPS controlled motor senses vehicle speed and directs the motor to reduce the effort accordingly, 60 amp motor, 9 amp battery draw, Factory calibrated, Some cutting required on existing steering column, A GPS antenna modifies the level of steering assistance according to your vehicles speed. It allows for increased assistance at low speeds and less assistance at higher speeds, The kit is prewired to ease installation, Average installation time is about 10 hours, Installation is a direct bolt on with everything needed for installation included, Reduces engine horsepower drain, Kits work equally well on road, off road or for racing applications.

Installation Note:

These electric power steering conversions from EPAS performance require you to not only remove your original power steering pump and lines but also convert to manual steering rack. This kit is compatible with many aftermarket style M/S rack and pinion units.

These units are also a great upgrade when doing a Coyote or motor swap conversion in your 1979 thru 1993 Foxbody Mustang.

Manufacture Note:

This new EPAS Performance GPS Automatic Adjustment controller will be used as an upgrade option to replace the adjustable potentiometer our electric power steering systems currently come equipped with. There is no need for an adjustment knob on this new controller as the GPS antenna modifies the level of steering assistance according to your vehicle's speed. The user will experience the maximum level of steering assistance while their vehicle is at rest, and the minimum level of steering assistance at high speeds. If for any reason the GPS loses its satellite connection, for example driving through a parking garage or tunnel, the system will keep the last known speed of the vehicle until the signal has been restored.

Note:

See NPD part number M-3A674-3EPS for EPAS performance computer controlled version.
