NPD is proud to offer this exclusive door frame front cap set for your 81-86 T-Top & 83-86 Convertible Foxbody Mustang. These moldings have been a must needed restoration part for your door windows on your Fox Mustang. These door frame moldings are designed to be exact reproductions of the original E1ZZ-6620476-B & E1ZZ-6620477-B units. They were made using NOS original patterns and samples and feature all the correct contours and mounting positions just like original. Each set of moldings also includes the PSA double sided tape that was include with the original moldings. They are designed to work with factory style weather-stripping and are made in a OEM style black finish. Restoration Note:
This door frame front cap set is designed to be used on T-Top and Convertible Foxbody Mustangs Before 7/86. They are based off the early style E1ZZ-6620476-B & E1ZZ-6620477-B Ford part numbers. The E1ZZ-B Ford part number was replaced by the late E6ZZ-6620476-A & E6ZZ-6620477-A part numbers. The later E6ZZ-A part number is commonly referred to as the flat style molding that was just more of a filler and not a cap. These moldings are the earlier style that acts more like a true trim molding and cap to finish off the door / mirror section that was cutoff by Car & Concepts. These moldings are made in a black finish but can be painted to match all your other original black exterior trim or if you have a 85-86 Foxbody can be painted to match your charcoal exterior trim. Installation Note:
This cap set is designed to work with original or reproduction weather-stripping. NPD has test fitted this door frame front cap set with our NPD part number M-20564-1A front door belt seals. These units also feature the correct dimple on the top side for proper mounting. This dimple is not pre drilled by NPD to allow for correct fitment to your application. NPD has found that since these units were hand drilled by Cars & Concepts they can be a little different from car to car. NPD has also found that these units could have either been mounted using a stainless rivet or a screw. You will need to replace your original rivet or reuse your original screw when installing these units.
The PSA double side tape that is included with this cap set is designed to mimic the original tape that was installed on the moldings prior to final installation. This PSA tape will ensure that the molding sit tight against your door frame. Proper prep on both the back side of the molding and body surface is needed to ensure a long stay adhesion.
Note:
These units are specific for RH and LH side and they are slightly different from each other when held next to each other. NPD can assure you that this is exactly how the original units are. Both from original samples as well as compared to cars in the NPD collection.
