This 3.31 ring gear and pinion set features the Ford Performance part number M-4209-88331 and is designed to work for 1986 thru 2014 Mustangs with the correct 8.8 inch rear axle. These gear kits include (1) pinion gear, (1) ring gear, (1) crush sleeve, (1) pinion nut and proper installation instructions. This kit features the Ford Performance part number M-4210-C3 and is ideal for completely freshening an 8.8" solid axle. Fits all 8.8-inch axles 1986-2004 except IRS, Contains all components from M-4210-B2 plus 8.8" AXLE BEARING AND SEAL KIT M-1225-B, Kit includes: pinion and carrier shims, crush sleeve, pinion seal, pinion nut, ring gear bolts, high-torque pinion bearing, OE carrier bearings, gear marking compound, cover gasket, outer axle seals and bearings.
Ford Performance requires 4-ounces of friction modifier to be used with initial fill. See NPD part number F-19546-1 for correct CM-19546-A1 part number. NPD also offers a full line of high quality Motorcraft gear oil to go with this correct friction modifier needed to get you back on the road.
Note:
When installing any new rear gears proper speedometer calibration will be required.
