Very cheap, very thin sheet metal. Completely poor quality

I'm afraid that I do not find this review to be either fair, or accurate. The gauge of sheet metal is only 1-gauge thinner than original Ford, which is .0032" difference. It is the same gauge that most other reproduction panels are produced in, so this should come as no surprise, nor does it render the part "very cheap, very thin, completely poor". Furthermore, this is the crispest and cleanest and best-fitting tooling available, of the four different factories/toolings in Taiwan currently manufacturing 65-66 Mustang hoods. This is hands-down the best currently being made, and it fits quite well. So I could not read this review, without providing some manner of context. We still have a supply of Original Ford Tooling 65-66 hoods remaining, NPD # 16612-1 , but they cost $529.95, considerably more for only marginally-better quality.

I ordered this hood based on a statement by NPD in the review section of this hood. That statement, for me, was dead on! The hood was packaged well, looked fantastic and fit was excellent. I was amazed at how well the hood fit with factory fenders and cowl. I do recommend this hood if you can’t find an original.
