If you are looking for the correct hood latch support bracket for your 1979 thru 1993 Foxbody Mustang, NPD has you covered with this new reproduction unit. This hood latch support bracket is based off the original D9ZZ-16707-A Ford part number and is designed to mount to your original radiator support. This support bracket helps provide a solid location for the hood latch to mount to. So, if your original units is bent, broken rusted or missing look at picking up one of these new units from NPD today!
Restoration Note:
The bracket included is designed and based off the original D9ZZ-16707-A Ford part number. It features all the correct bends, hole locations and dimensions to ensure a OE style installation. This bracket was originally mounted to the core support prior to hood latch install and would have been painted body color to match the factory core support.
Installation Note:
The hardware included with this support bracket is replacement style hardware that is only correct for the 1983 thru 1993 model years. This is because this is metric style hardware and the earlier 1979 thru 1982 Foxbody Mustangs used standard hardware to properly mount this bracket to the core support. NPD offers the correct mounting hardware for both bracket to core support (M-16707-1AK) as well as hood latch to support bracket (M-16700-1K) for your 1979 thru 1982 Foxbody Mustang.
Included with this bracket is the correct 1983-1993 hardware to not only mount your hood support bracket to radiator support but also the correct hardware to mount your hood latch to support bracket.
Note:
This unit according to the Ford parts book will also work for 1979-1986 Mercury Capri. The same hardware note listed above applies to the Capri
