Both the bolts and the nuts in this kit are a 10.9 grade hardware the same as factory, and both the bolts and the nuts are finished in a similar black phosphate finish that was used. This OE Style mounting kit is designed for 1979 thru 1986 Mustangs and should only be used on those years. See Restoration note below for a more in depth look at this kit.
Restoration Note:
This mounting kit for 1979 thru 86 Foxbody Mustangs is labeled as OE style hardware due to it offering as close to original style hardware as possible. This kit features the correct hex head bolts that were used from 1979 thru 1986, Ford did not start offering hex head flange bolts until 1987. This kit also includes the correct style top lock / distorted thread flange locking nuts that were used from 1979 thru 1986. Both the bolts and the nuts are finished in a similar black phosphate finish that was use from 79 thru 86. So if you are looking for a close to OE style kit as possible then this is the kit for you.
NPD research shows that that hex head size on the bolts offers in this kit are similar to the ones used later in the production years. Some models had oversized or larger hex head then the size offered in this kit.
