ORNAMENTS, ROOF SIDE

This ornament replaces the pair I had installed on my car about 8 or 9 years ago. Those weathered out. The previous pair had the finish emblems attach to a plastic and metal base that screwed into the car first. This new set has no base plate and has a visible but not reachable backing that looks like cardboard. I hope it is not that. The new set also has no instructions for proper mounting. I called NPD but they had no instructions either. They said perhaps it must be screwed into from the interior of the car, which I surely don't want to do. I traced the product to its originator but there were no instructions there either. I will have to bring the car to a body shop and have them figure out what to do. The product looks wonderful, but I am perplexed as to how to get a proper, permanent installation. I will add stars if we can figure this out and it works.

Originally, Ford had two ball-tipped studs installed into the C-Pillar, and the ornament simply spun-onto and locked-onto the studs. These reproductions are identical in construction, and install the exact same way. However... If your studs have been REMOVED, or if you have new quarter panels, we are not aware of a source for those studs. Most people are simply using automotive-grade double-sided tape to install in these cases.
