If your original intake studs and throttle body / EGR spacer mounting hardware have seen better days? Then NPD has you covered with this replacement style stud kit. This kit includes (4) intake / throttle body mounting studs that are based of the original 390788-S Ford part number as well as (4) Hex head flange nuts that are based of the 45357-S Ford part number. This one kit is designed to properly secure your throttle body and EGR spacer to your original 5.0L intake manifold. The mounting studs and mounting nuts are both finished in a Black Oxide coating for a long lasting finish. Restoration Note:
This kit is listed as a replacement style due to the fact that this kit has a few differences from the original hardware. The original hardware featured a Bright Zinc finish / coating unlike this black oxide finish. Also the original mounting studs featured little longer thread length on both ends as well a a little long overall length. The mounting nuts in this kit are the correct 1/2 wrench size but feature a little short height compared to the original nuts. These small differences are why NPD suggested that this kit be called a replacement style.
Installation Note:
The nuts included in this kit can also be used to help with installation of the mounting studs into the upper intake manifold. You can use two of the nuts together to help create a jamb nut and this will help with stud installation.
Note:
This kit is designed to be used with factory 86-93 5.0L intake manifolds or explore GT40 style intake manifolds. This kit will not work with the 5.0L Cobra style intakes.
