I would be simpler for me to list what is right: The speaker grilles are very high quality. Now for what's wrong: 1 - The template doesn't match the holes on the speaker grilles; 2 - The template doesn't match the holes for the speakers; 3 - The mounting holes in the grilles are further apart than those on the speakers, so you can't fasten the grilles to the speakers. I had to make a thin metal plate that resembles the template. This plate goes on the rear of the speaker and sandwiches the speaker between the plate and the door. Using 10-32 rivnuts on the plate, I was then able to use the grille mounting holes to secure the speaker to the door.

A nice kit, but..about the template for the speaker and grill: I matched up the positions for the grill screw holes then used the oval shape speaker hole and cut it all out perfectly. When setting the speaker in place in the hole I cut out per the template the hole is much more oblong shaped then the oval shape of the speaker's oval edge gasket that will press up against the inside of the door. That hole may be correct for the old factory speakers but certainly not for the speakers in the box. It will work, but had I known this I would have cut the hole to better fit the supplied speakers. I will adjust on the other door hole when I cut it out. CPC, the company boxing them up for resale by NPD should have caught this and supplied two templates if that's the case, one for factory speakers, and one for the supplied speakers. They have modified the holes in the speaker to work with the grills and now include a set of j clips and screws to attach it all, so they must be somewhat aware of the improper shape of the hole the installer would cut using the supplied template. It will be quite some time before I get them hooked up to a stereo to let you know how they sound as the cars on a rotisserie at the moment. Hope this helps the next buyers!
