This bracket set is designed to be a direct replacement for your original upper front valance panel side brackets used on your 1979 Indy Pace car or 1980-1982 Cobra or GT front end. These exclusive units from NPD are based off the original D9ZZ-17C760-A part number and are as close to original as possible. The bracket set includes both RH and LH side brackets as well as (4) correct style (33769-S2) Hex head style washer nuts used to mount them. These metal brackets are located on the RH and LH side of the upper valance panel and are designed to give support / structure when bolting the front fender extensions to the valance panel. These brackets allow you to tighten the nuts down and spread the clamping load over a larger section so you do not damage the urethane front valance. These brackets are specific to the the D9ZZ-17626-A front valance used on these special edition Foxbody Mustangs from 1979 thru 1982. So if you are looking to complete the front end of your early Fox Mustang then this bracket set might be just the parts you are looking for!
Installation Note:
These brackets will fit either the RH or LH side. Each front valance uses 1 bracket per side. These brackets included the mounting nuts that attach the front fender extensions to the valance panel. The nuts included in this kits are designed to work with original or NPD exclusive fender fender extensions M-16A162-1B.
NPD part number M-17626-2A front valance panel from Daniel Carpenter does not included these brackets or the correct mounting nuts.
Restoration Note:
The original Ford illustration show the mounting hardware included with this kit as part number 33769-S2. NPD has checked many different models and applications and found that the hardware NPD includes is as close to correct as possible. Some models may have slight differences in this hardware.
These units were also used on 1984-86 Mecury Capri RS models. Ford Listing show the D9ZZ-17C760-A unit as going all the way to the 1986 Capri model.
